Where is the garden? You’ll find us on Hardacre Street at the corner of Coff Street, Coffs Harbour. Click here to go to the location on google maps.
Is it free to enter the garden? Yes, entry is free of charge.
Are you open every day? Yes, the garden is open every day of the year.
What are opening hours? The garden gates are open from 9am to 5pm daily. The Information Centre and Shop is open from 9am to 4pm.
Is the garden accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and strollers? Yes it is. Full accessibility details can be found here.
Are there toilets at the garden? Yes, toilets are at the entrance and also near the lawns and waterfall about 700 metres from the entrance. Both toilets have wheelchair access.
Where can I park? There is off street car parking at the garden entrance on Hardacre Street.
Is there space for cars with caravans or trailers, or large buses to park? Yes, along Hardacre Street travelling toward the garden, or on Coffs Street in front of the cemetery next to the garden entrance carpark.
Can I have a picnic at the garden? Yes! There are a number of places to enjoy a picnic – see the garden map.
Can I buy food at the garden? Snacks and drinks are available at the Information Centre and Shop.
Can I buy plants at the garden? Yes, the plant stall is run by volunteers and all the proceeds help to maintain the garden.
Can I pick the flowers? No, we want everyone to enjoy the flowers!
Can I take photographs and video at the garden? Yes, please do. And share them on social media with hashtag #coffsharbourbotanicgarden.
Can I use a drone at the garden? No, this is restricted under airport flightpath regulations.
Can I join a guided tour at the garden? Yes, see What’s On for guided tours available. There is a monthly educational walk by the volunteer garden guides (third Thursday of month at 10am) which visitors can join for free.
Can I organise a wedding or other special event at the garden? Yes, see venue hire for details. This needs to be organised through Coffs Harbour City Council. More information about venue and ebuggy hire here.
Can I bring my dog or domestic animal? No, dogs and other domestic animals are not permitted, except for assistance dogs, for example for a person with a visual impairment.
Where can I walk my dog nearby? You can walk your dog along the signposted Coffs Creek path which starts near the entrance to the Botanic Garden carpark and goes all the way to the coast.
Can I ride a bike or skateboard or electric scooter in the garden? No, we need to keep the paths safe for walkers. There is a bike rack outside the garden entrance.
Can I drive a car inside the garden? No, cars are not permitted. Two electric buggies, People Movers driven by trained volunteers are available to assist in transporting people needing assistance down and back the main path. This needs to be booked ahead (small fee applies) at the Information Centre and Shop (02) 6648 4188
Do you have wheelchairs available for loan? Yes, a wheelchair is available for free loan. Ask on arrival or book ahead at the Information Centre and Shop
Can I have a religious ceremony or political gathering in the Garden? Religious ceremonies and political gatherings held in the garden require venue hire and approval from Coffs Harbour City Council. See Venue Hire for the Council contact information.
Who owns the garden? The garden is on Crown Land managed by Coffs Harbour City Council with a Garden Curator/Manager and a small team of staff employed by the Council. The volunteer Friends of the Garden assist with the running of garden services and fundraise for garden facilities.
