Entering and exiting the Garden
The main entrance to the garden has a wide flat path with no steps. An alternative emergency exit is the side service road meeting the main path in the centre of the garden.
Electric buggies with driver/guides are available for internal transport along the main path for visitors with limited mobility. These must be booked in advance and a small fee applies with all proceeds supporting the garden. Book at the Information Centre and Shop (02) 6648 4188.
Two wheelchairs are also available for free loan. We recommend pre booking of the wheelchairs by calling the Information Centre and Shop.
All main garden areas are accessible including the Display meeting room in the entrance building, the Cottage meeting room, the front pavilion, Glasshouse, picnic areas, Sensory Garden, Lake and Japanese Garden, Chinese Pagoda and American garden area pavilion. That is, all of the venues for hire in the garden are accessible.
We welcome guide dogs, hearing dogs and assistance dogs in the Botanic Garden.
