School Visits

The garden offers an informative outdoor and nature classroom for school groups. There is parking for buses and toilets at the entrance.

A range of themed Discovery Walks are available along formed paths with information boards. Some have educational leaflets and resources available including for the Nature Trail circuit (Our Habitats Our Home), the Garlambirla Walk alongside Coffs Creek introducing plant use by the Gumbaynggirr people.

“Every year I visit with my Horticulture class from Trenayr Tafe, it is always a highlight of the teaching year. Students always love it, and we all really appreciate this opportunity. Such a fantastic spot to learn. Thank you.”

Nicole Stautner, Horticulture Class Teacher.

You can choose to undertake a self-guided visit with your class or arrange a guided visit.

Areas to base your class visit:

1 The front lawn and adjacent Front Pavilion/stage area. This area is near a pond (with koi carp fish) and next to the Entrance Garden with a variety of forest trees and sub-tropical plants.  Toilets are in the nearby Entrance Building. Drinking water refill near garden map at entrance.

2. The new Glasshouse foyer (undercover area) – about 600 metres down the Main Path. This is adjacent to an expansive lawn area called the Village Green, the Sensory Garden (and sundial) and the Rainforests section. A toilet block is on the other side of the Village Green. Drinking Water refill point on Main Path behind Glasshouse.

3. Coming Soon:  A dedicated education discovery centre building about 100m from the entrance.
